About me

Sommelier for over 10 years, I have acquired experience, knowledge and expertise in the world of wine by participating in countless conferences and tastings, food and wine trips, courses and seminars, comparing myself with agronomists, oenologists and researchers in the sector, but above all by visiting the cellars and chatting with the winemakers, walking with them among the rows of vines, listening to the story of their territory.

I keep myself continually updated on wines and proposals in relation to possible combinations with food, I am passionate about tasting and evaluating new realities, I participate in fairs and technical courses, I read articles and treatises and I continue to study with interest, because the world of wine is continually and increasingly rapidly evolving.

I have decided to turn my passion into a job and to share my experiences and discoveries with you, to convey to you what the territory can give us through wine, along a journey into the traditions and culture of conscious drinking, in search of new wine-growing realities, or simply by reviving territories that are sometimes forgotten or considered unsuitable for producing this nectar, passing from one glass to another through the history and culture of our lands, combining traditional dishes or risking unexpected combinations to stimulate your curiosity, to create conviviality and to give emotions.

In my wanderings in search of lesser-known territories and wines, I like to relate to the people I meet, winemakers and fellow sommeliers, journalists or simple wine enthusiasts, passing from small family-run wineries to historic ones handed down from several generations up to the latest or new realities marked by innovation and experimentation, discovering and observing how enchanted corners, forgotten areas, stories and cultures between past, present and future merge into one to compose the poetry that we find in the glass of wine.

Yes, because wine is not just a drink, a label or a status symbol.

Wine is love and passion for one’s land, one’s traditions to be preserved, with sacrifice, evolution and innovation, a little piece of life. Each wine is a song, a piece of music, a story, a poem of life and we choose whether to listen to it whispered live by the winemaker, or at full volume at home or in a restaurant, in company or alone.

My grandfather Olivo, a simple man and a hard worker, guided me to drink my first glass, the “taj di vin”, on Good Friday: “drink!”, he told me that day as he poured me a finger of that purple drink in the glass, for him, a man devoted to the Church, it was a ritual, I was only 7 years old. In December of the same year he left us forever and the ritual was interrupted, but the memory of him and that of the homemade Merlot has never left me. I remember his face clearly as he watched the grimaces I made while swallowing that liquid that smelled of red fruits, but was also pungent on the nose, a little rough and bitter in the mouth and burning along the throat. Perhaps it is this memory that led me to put my nose in the glasses and search for those aromas… that memory… that emotion!!

I would be happy to offer you the wine that best meets your expectations or to create the most appropriate event for your needs.
